5 Tips for Choosing the Right Table Linen Size
1. Measure Your Table
Start by measuring the length, width, or diameter of your table to determine the appropriate tablecloth size. For floor-length linens, don’t forget to include the table height, which is typically 30 inches for standard sit-down tables.
2. Match Linen Size to Event Formality
• For casual or business events, a halfway drop (approximately 15 inches) is commonly used.
• For formal events like weddings or banquets, opt for a floor-length drop (around 30 inches) for a polished look.
3. Consider Overhang Preferences
The overhang sets the tone for your event:
• 12-15 inches: Ideal for informal or buffet-style gatherings.
• 30 inches (floor-length): Perfect for creating a sophisticated, formal ambiance.
4. Use Size Charts as a Guide
Refer to linen size charts for guidance but keep in mind they are approximate recommendations. Since tablecloths can vary slightly, it’s best to measure your table directly for a more accurate fit.
5. Test with a Sample
Purchase a sample table linen if possible. Testing it on your table ensures the fit is just right and prevents unexpected issues on the day of your event, especially for formal occasions.
These steps will help you confidently select the perfect table linens for any occasion!
